Do I need to place the Sofa Bed against the wall?

The Sofa Bed is self-supporting which can be placed in any part of your house and it is not necessary to place it against the wall.

Does the Sofa Bed come in different densities?

Our Tatami Sofa Bed comes in only one density that helps to maintain its firmness throughout the years and does not go out of shape.

Does the Sofa Bed come in a wider size?

Due to the limitation of the natural Igusa, the maximum width of the Tatami Sofa Bed is 88cm. If required wider, we would suggest placing 2 Tatami Sofa Bed side by side.

What if my child or pet urinates on it?

If such a scenario occurs, please use tissues or a cloth to wipe away all the urine out first. Since the Tatami is water resistant, the urine will not seep into it straight away, but please clean it up as soon as you notice it. Once you have wiped the urine away, take a wet wipe to give it another thorough wipe. Then, mix some lemon juice with water, soak a cloth in this mixture, squeeze dry it and wipe the Tatami once again. Once this is done, prop the Tatami up and allow it to dry and ventilate. Once the Tatami is dry, spray our Tatami Mist all over the Tatami and let it dry once more. Our Tatami Mist is an antibacterial and mould preventing solution.

Can Tatami be placed outdoors?

It is possible to be placed outdoors in a location where there is gentle sunlight and has no access to water from either the rain or pools. Excessive moisture from water bodies can damage the Tatami permanently.

Do I need to put a bedsheet on my Sofa Bed?

We encourage our clients to sleep directly on their Tatami Sofa Beds so that they can enjoy the cooling effect from our Premium Japanese Igusa. Our Tatami Sofa Beds are natural products and require ventilation as well, so it is best to not cover it up with bed sheets for long hours.

Had the thought of using a Tatami bed in order to save some space in my room and chanced upon The Tatami Shop. The Tatami 9-in-1 futon sofa bed immediately caught my eye and I decided to drop by and see how the product actually looked like and how it would feel. At the shop, I was very impressed by the level of service provided by Rin, the staff who attended to my queries about the bed. She explained the various positions for the Tatami bed as well as how to maintain it (using the anti-bacterial spray). Needless to say, with the great customer service as well as the bed itself being comfortable for me, I went ahead and purchased it. I would also like to commend how the staff also took the time to clean my purchases as well before passing it to me. Been a week since I used the Tatami bed and I will say that I am very satisfied with it! Would definitely recommend this bed!

Longtime user and huge fan of the 9 in 1 sofa bed - superb for naps and mid day lazing. Recently added to the collection with the tatami car seats, which i use on my work chair, car seats etc.
Great service support from the Tatami Shop as well.

A great discovery, always wanted a portable mattress and happens to chance upon Tatami Shop, where was introduced by Christine on the types of tatami and how convenient it is to change into sitting and lying down position. Provides a very relaxing mat to sit on. The tatami smell is nice, at least to me.
