Why Proper Care Matters

Proper care ensures your Hinoki Pillow remains hygienic and effective. Regular ventilation prevents moisture buildup, while cold-washing the cover maintains the fabric's integrity. By following these steps below, you extend the lifespan of the pillow and maintain a clean sleep environment.

Maintenance Instructions

The Outer Cover

Unzip and remove the cover. Machine-wash the cover using water below 20°C.

The Insert

Place the insert in a well-ventilated area under indirect sunlight. This eliminates bacteria without drying out the wood’s natural oils.

Refreshing the Fragrance

You can use our Hinoki Mist* to refresh the pillow's fragrance.

A light spray re-activates the natural scent and antibacterial properties of the wood shavings.

Adjustable Comfort

You can customize the comfort of the pillow by adding or removing shavings. Simply unzip the insert and remove shavings until the height is perfect for your neck.

Store any removed shavings in a zip-lock bag or airtight container. This preserves their fragrance and moisture for future use.

  • Ventilate the insert in indirect sunlight.
  • Use our Hinoki Mist to restore the pillow's fragrance.
  • Store extra shavings in airtight bags.
